Recently, Boney Kapoor announced that his upcoming production Valimai starring Ajith Kumar in the lead will come out for Pongal next year. Though he has not officially announced a release date, it is anticipated that Valimai will hit theater screens on January 13, 2022. 

Another movie that is highly anticipated around the same time is Vijay's Beast though Sun Pictures never officially announced or confirmed their release plans for the movie.

Recently Boney Kapoor was asked in an interview how he feels about this possible clash and this is what he had to say, "Well, if it does (Vijay’s Beast also releases), Pongal will get brighter for the fans of both stars."

It is worth mentioning here that MovieCrow has been reporting that Beast will be a April, 2022 release mostly for Tamil New Year.
