One of K.V. Anand's frequent collaborators from the Tamil film industry was actor Suriya. After the unfortunate demise of the cinematographer-director, Suriya was spotted visiting K.V. Anand's house and the hospital he was admitted in. Now, the actor has penned a heart-felt obituary for K.V. Anand, in which Suriya recalls how a photo capture by K.V. Anand changed the trajectory of his life.

"It is through the photograph you took, a miraculous transformation happened, Saravanan became Suriya. I am still in awe of the effort you put in for two hours, to showcase a new face at a right angle. That two-hour photoshoot at the Madras Talkies office felt like a battleground. The ‘Russian Angle’ shot you took featuring me for Nerukku Ner was the main reason for director Vasanth, producer Mani Ratnam and others to place their trust in me", recalled Suriya.

The actor also wrote what KV Anand's contribution as a cinematographer and director meant to his life. He said, "My future shined bright only because of the light that reflected from your lens. I can never forget your contribution and guidance to my journey in cinema. Your words continue to guide me..I was desperate for success and Ayan gave me a new boost to run forward. The film elevated me to the pedestal of a star who is loved by all and I am eternally grateful to you for it."

But what got everyone talking was the 'anomaly of nature' Suriya pointed out in towards the end of his tribute. He wrote, "You were part of my first film and I was part of you final film. You will always live in our memories, sir. Heartfelt thanks and tribute."
