It was in 2019 when actor Vijay Sethupathi first confirmed that he was approached to share screen space with Kamal Haasan in Indian 2, but the actor couldn't take up the offer at that time. After that Vijay Sethupathi was associated with Kamal Haasan's Thalaivan Irukkindran (Devar Magan 2) but the actor refuted the same. 

Now, Vijay Sethupathi has confirmed that he has once again been approached to share screen space with Kamal Haasan in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Vikram. However the actor is yet to make a call on whether or not to join forces with his Master director one more time. 

Malayalam film star Fahadh Faasil is already a part of Vikram and he plays the main antagonist in the movie. Vikram is touted to be a political thriller and is backed by Kamal's home banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI). The film has Anirudh for music.
