The Good Friday weekend seems to have proved favoursome for Karthi's Sulthan which released in theaters on April 2, 2021. In the first three days of its release, Sulthan has managed to gross Rs. 13 Cr. in Tamil Nadu, which is a good opening for a movie considering the COVID-19 circumstances.

In Telugu states like Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, Sulthan is said to have grossed Rs. 4.8 Cr. The distributor share of the film in these Telugu States is Rs. 2.66 Cr. (break-even is Rs. 7 Cr) and their region-wise break-up (approx.) for the first 3 days' collections is as follows:

• Nizam : Rs. 91 lakh 
• Ceeded : Rs. 44 lakh
• UA : Rs. 33 lakh
• East : Rs. 25 lakh
• West : Rs. 15 lakh
• Krishna : Rs. 24 lakh
• Guntur : Rs. 22 lakh
