The official website of Yuvan Shankar Raja's U1 records has stated that the intro song of Ajith's upcoming movie Valimai will be a 'mass folk number' and that director Vignesh Shivan has donned his lyricist cap for the track. This is Vignesh Shivan's second time penning for an Ajith song after Adhaaru Adhaaru from the 2015 Harris Jayaraj musical Yennai Arindhaal. 

The site further elaborates that festival drummers from Orissa were used for the song's recording. Shooting spot pictures of the Valimai intro song were also shared on social media today.

Valimai directed by H. Vinoth comes with 5 tracks in total and previously Yuvan had revealed about Ajith's suggestion of not using 'guitar tunes' for the theme music. The film directed by Boney Kapoor will see Ajith in the role of a cop and is expected to release during the Independence day weekend.
