Actor Suriya's home production Ponmagal Vandhal starring Jyotika in the lead is making history as the first Tamil mainstream film to release directly on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The decision to bypass theatrical run was caused to the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation and opening up on the same, 2D Entertainment's CEO and co-producer of Ponmagal Vandhal Karpoorasundarapandian said,

Ponmagal Vandhal is directed by debutant JJ ​​Frederick and stars Parthiban, K Bhagyaraj, Pandiyarajan, Thyagarajan and Pratap Pothan among others. The film makes its world premiere on May 29, 2020.
