Ajith kickstarted the shooting of Valimai at Ramojirao Film City in Hyderabad on Decemeber 13. The first schedule which latest for 10 days has been wrapped and the team is back in Chennai. An intense action sequence involving bike chase, car chase and fights were shot in this schedule. According to reports, the next schedule of the film will begin in the first week of January in Chennai and a huge set is being erected in Sri Gokulam Studios.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film marks the second collaboration of Ajith with both of them after Nerkonda Paarvai. Ajith essays the role of a police officer and reportedly will sport two looks. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Nirav Shah.
