Hours after producer Suresh Kamatchi announced through an official statement that due to the passing time with no materialization, he has decided to go ahead with Maanaadu sans Simbu, director of the film Venkat Prabhu has now issued a statement of his own. Taking to his micro-blogging page Venkat Prabhu wrote:

"It’s very unfortunate that I couldn’t work with my brother #str in #maanaadu Everything is time bounded. Considering the amount of emotional and financial pressure that the producer is going through, I have to respect the decision taken by the producer. Thnks for all the love!"

Touted to be a political thriller Maanaadu was announced in July last year with Simbu as the lead and later Kalayani Priyadarshan joined the team. However the film never took off and now the team plans to take off the project with presumably a new lead.
