Last week, we had reported about actress Kalyani Priyadarshan being roped in as the female lead of Simbu's next political thriller Maanaadu. Now, the same has been officially confirmed by the actress herself and director of the film, Venkat Prabhu welcomed her on-board via twitter today.
Maanaadu is a production venture of V house productions with Yuvan Shankar Raja for music and Praveen K.L. for the edits. Lead STR has been training in martial arts and focusing on weight reduction for this film, which is expected to go on floors soon.
