Based on trusted sources close to matter, Rajnikanth and Shankar are currently in last stages of finalizing their 3rd venture together. Rajinkanth and Shankar have been meeting a number of times during the last couple of months. The word is that Shankar narrated the story outline to Rajnikanth and got it approved.

Rajni ready to sign next as Kochadaiyaan nears Completion

With Kochadaiyaan release starting to firm up for end of 2013 or Pongal 2014 release, Rajinikanth is starting to make plans for his next movie beginning April 2014 as soon as Shankar wraps up "I". Due to trade and family reasons, Superstar could not commit to any other movie until Kochadaiyaan post-production nears completion. 

"I" financial problems turns out to be blessing in disguise for Shankar

We had earlier reported that "I" shooting came to halt due to Aascar Productions running out of allocated budget for this project. Shankar camped in Bangalore and had used this month long break to work with his writing team to brainstorm a number of one-liners. Right before Shankar enters the final leg of "I" shooting later this month, Rajini heard these one-liners and short-listed them last month. Shankar fully developed the story outline, narrated to Rajni this week and got the nod for one of them.
