Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj is one of the most awaited films in Kollywood. The film shooting is progressing at a brisk pace in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Rajinikanth is currently sporting a younger look for the portions being shot in Lucknow. The picture and the video of Superstar being mobbed by fans to catch a glimpse of the actor has gone viral on the social media. Rajinkanth who is shooting in Mohanlalganj in Lucknow was thronged by fans on his way to the shoot.

The title and first look poster of the film was released recently by the makers. As reported earlier, the film is expected to hit the screens for Pongal 2019. Petta is Rajinikanth's 165th film and has an ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddique, Megha Akash, Bobby Simha, Simran, Guru Somasundaram, Sanath Reddy and Munish Kanth among others. After Lucknow, the team will be filming a flashback portion at Kasi and this schedule will feature Rajinikanth and Trisha in it. The movie is produced by Sun Pictures and has Anirudh Ravichander for music.
