Petta, actor Rajinikanth's next with director Karthik Subbaraj is currently being filmed at Lucknow and at this time actor Bobby Simha who plays an important role in the movie might have let slip a crucial information about the film. During an interactive session with the viewers for his latest release Saamy Square, Bobby Simha was apparently quoted to have said that Petta will be a Pongal, 2019 release.
Though there is no official word on the same, it would be a huge festive Dhamaka if makers choose to lock that date as Ajith's dual-roled Viswasam and Vishal starrer Ayogya are also planning to release during the same holiday weekend.
Petta is Rajinikanth's 165th film and has an ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddique, Megha Akash, Bobby Simha, Simran, Guru Somasundaram, Sanath Reddy and Munish Kanth among others.
After Lucknow, the team will be filming a flashback portion at Kasi and this schedule will feature Rajinikanth and Trisha in it. The movie is produced by Sun Pictures and has Anirudh Ravichander for music.
