Vijay's Sarkar in trouble for cigarette smoking poster yet again: Tamil Nadu Health department issues notice!

Vijay's upcoming film with director A.R. MurugadossSakar bore the brunt of a disgruntled former Union minister and flag-bearer of anti-smoking Anbumani Ramadoss, after he publicly criticized the team and the film's lead actor. Added to this, the Tamil Nadu People's Forum for Tobacco Control accused Vijay and team of using cigarettes as a ploy for marketing the film. And just when people thought the topic had subsided, news of the public health department of the state issuing a notice to team Sarkar has broken out.

Reportedly, notices have been issued to actor Vijay, director A.R. Murugadoss and producer Sun Pictures warning of a legal action, in he event of them not revoking the poster with smoking images from all media platforms. Ironically, the poster in question was the first look of the film and blow-outs of the same were distributed free on the day it was unveiled, along with every purchase of Sun group's print editorial, the Dhina Thanthi. The move we hear has been taken to discourage youngsters, especially those who follow everything their favourite stars trivialize, from taking up smoking.
