The much awaited title and first look poster of Vijay's upcoming film with AR Murugadoss was revealed by Sun Pictures yesterday. Titled Sarkar, Vijay is seen smoking a cigarette and holding a lighter in the first look poster. The smoking poster has sparked controversy yet again after Thuppakki.
PMK youth wing leader and Lok Sabha MP Dr Anbumani Ramadoss has condemned the smoking poster of Sarkar on his Twitter page.

Earlier the first look poster of Thuppakki where Vijay is seen smoking a cigar also landed into controversy. The poster, was criticised by social activists for violating the Indian Tobacco Act, which prohibits advertising tobacco products. Director Murugadoss explained that it was only for promotional purposes and added that the film had no such scenes, claiming that even a small sequence featuring Vijay smoking had been deleted from the film.
While the Sarkar poster trended on top in Twitter within minutes of its release, there were mixed reactions for the smoking poster from the people as well. Some sections of people felt that the poster would have been better devoid smoking and were also not happy about Vijay encouraging smoking as part of his film promotions.
