Superstar Rajinikanth is currently in Darjeeling shooting for his upcoming film helmed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film went on floors on June 7, the day Kaala hit the theatres. The team has been shooting in two educational institutions there are huge speculations that Rajinikanth plays the role of a professor in the movie.

According to reports, the Darjeeling schedule which has lasted over a month will be wrapped by this week and Superstar is expected to return to Chennai on July 10. The next schedule of the film will begin in mid-July in Dehradun. After wrapping the Dehradun schedule the team will also be shooting some portions of the movie in Madurai. 

Sun Pictures is bankrolling the project. Actor Simran is expected to play the lead opposite Rajinikanth while Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy play major roles. Anirudh is scoring the music.
