Superstar Rajinikanth is awaiting the release of Kaala which is scheduled for release on June 7 worldwide. The much awaited Kaala trailer was released yesterday. Twitter has launched a customised emoji with the superstar's Kaala avatar owing to the film's popularity. The film will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.

With fans eagerly awaiting to watch Kaala on screen, here's some interesting updates on Superstar's next film to be directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film will go on floors in the first week of June and the team will be shooting in Uttarakhand's capital city, Dehradun. The pre-production work for the film is happening in full swing. 

Vijay Sethupathi will be playing an important role in Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film. According to reports, Vijay Sethupathi might play the role of the villain in the film. Bobby Simha and Sanath are also part of the cast. 

Actor Simran is said to be the frontrunner for the female lead. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited. Anjali has been also reportedly approached to play a key role in the film.

Anirudh Ravichander will score the music and National Award-winning cinematographer Tirru will handle the camera. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the project.
