Iru Mugan Box Office Report - Vikram's much-needed Hit

Vikram, who puts Herculean efforts into every role he plays, has been going through a lean patch for more than a decade, except for the box office success of Shankar's films -- Anniyan and I. However, his latest film with Anand Shankar, Iru Mugan, is turning out to be a 'Hit' across major territories.

According to an official statement from the production house, the movie has approximately grossed around Rs 51 crore from the opening weekend worldwide.

In spite of the mixed reviews, Iru Mugan took a very good opening during the 4-day opening weekend across Tamil Nadu. The movie is estimated to have grossed around Rs 17 crore from Tamil Nadu alone in the opening weekend and it is the second biggest opening for Vikram after I.
