Producer Kalaippuli S Thanu has announced that Arasan has resumed production, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo on social media with the caption "Arasan Back in Action."

Written and directed by Vetri Maaran, Arasan stars Silambarasan TR in the titular role alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu, Yogalakshmi and Jibin Gopinath, with Samuthirakani and Andrea Jeremiah reprising their roles from Vada Chennai. Anirudh Ravichander composes the music in his first collaboration with Vetri Maaran, while R Velraj handles cinematography. The film is backed by Kalaippuli S Thanu under V Creations.
