Archana Kalpathi Appointed to Tamil Nadu Government's Temple Trustee Selection Committee

Film producer and AGS Entertainment CEO Archana Kalpathi has been appointed as a member of a state-level committee formed by the Tamil Nadu government to select non-hereditary trustees for temples under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

The seven-member panel will oversee the shortlisting of candidates for trustee appointments to temples with an annual income exceeding Rs 10 lakh. It will be headed by Thavathiru Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal of Bommapuram Adheenam, Mayilam, with retired District and Sessions Judge Dr K Ramnathan serving as vice-chairperson. The other members include retired IAS officer PR Sampath, Ma Sumathi alias Sumathisri and Tha Velmurugan, with the HR&CE Commissioner as ex-officio member and secretary.

 

Known for producing films like Bigil, Love Today and The Greatest of All Time, Archana Kalpathi is the latest from the Tamil film industry to take on a government responsibility under the CM Vijay administration.
