Ajith Kumar's schedule is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about in Tamil cinema, with multiple high-profile projects reportedly in various stages of planning. The most immediate is Dare Devil, his reunion with Good Bad Ugly director Adhik Ravichandran, now confirmed as AK64 and expected to begin shooting in September. Produced by Shalini Ajithkumar under Brave Hearts Productions, the film is described as a family entertainer with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. Ajith is said to have allotted approximately 75 days for the shoot, with Kayadu Lohar and Mohanlal linked to the cast though unconfirmed.
Beyond Dare Devil, Ajith is also reportedly in discussions with director Venkat Prabhu for Mankatha 2, a potential sequel to their 2011 blockbuster.
Adding to the excitement, reports from Touring Talkies suggest that Ajith could subsequently join hands with director Shankar for a new project — one that is said to have its script and budget aligned. If the collaboration materialises, it would mark the first time the two have worked together. Shankar is reportedly eyeing a commercially viable entertainer with a controlled budget before proceeding to his ambitious and long-delayed Velpari adaptation. However, no official confirmation has come from either side.
