59th Filmfare Awards South Winners 2012

The 59th Filmfare Awards South ceremony honouring the winners and nominees of the best of South Indian cinema in 2011 was held on 7 July, 2012 in Chennai, India. More than 451 films from each of the four film industries were considered for nominations in various categories.

In Tamil, Deivathirumagal got maximum number of nominations (9) and Aadukalam won the most number of awards (5). Shruthi Haasan got the best female debut award and Vikram received the special jury award.

In other southern languages, Dookudu swept Telugu industry by winning 6 awards. Shreya Ghoshal won 3 awards in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada for best female playback singer. SP Muthuraman and Seema were awarded the lifetime achievement award.
