Vijay Sethupathi has announced that Star Vijay has come on board as the satellite partner for Train, the long-delayed film directed by Mysskin. Producer Kalaippuli S Thanu echoed the announcement, fuelling fresh speculation about the film's release.

Train completed filming in 2024, having gone on floors in 2023, but has been awaiting a release ever since. The film stars Narain, Shruti Haasan, Nasser, KS Ravikumar, Sampath Raj, Kalaiyarasan and others alongside Vijay Sethupathi, and reunites Mysskin with Narain after Chithiram Pesuthadi, Anjathe and Mugamoodi.

Mysskin, who has not had a directorial release since Psycho in 2020, also composes the music for Train. Fowzia Fathima handles cinematography and Sri Watson edits the film.
