The cast of Vetri Maaran's much-anticipated Arasan just got more interesting. Comedian-actor Yogi Babu confirmed his presence in the film at the Behindwoods Gold Hall of Famers event, adding another exciting name to an already stellar ensemble.

"I don't know if Arasan is a part of the Vada Chennai universe, but I am a part of the film," he quipped characteristically, before expressing full confidence in the project. "Simple, if STR sir is there, the film will be a sure-shot success," he added, describing the film as a "blast."

Yogi Babu also revealed that he plays an important character whose arc travels throughout the film — though he held back further details, saying it was too early to share more.

Set in the Vada Chennai universe, Arasan stars Silambarasan in the lead, with Vijay Sethupathi, Yogalakshmi, Jibin Gopinath, Andrea Jeremiah, and Samuthirakani — the latter two reprising their roles from the original — also on board. Vetri Maaran last directed Viduthalai Part 2.
