Colleges Are Not Spaces for Film Promotions,’ Says Sasikumar at #MyLord Promotions

Actor Sasikumar, during the promotions of #MyLord, shared his strong views against promoting films at colleges, stating that educational institutions should remain focused solely on academics.

Speaking at the event, Sasikumar said he does not believe that film promotions in colleges translate into ticket sales. According to him, students may enjoy the presence of celebrities, treat it as a memorable moment, and then move on without it influencing their decision to watch a film.

He further emphasized that only activities related to education should be showcased within college campuses, not cinema. Sasikumar added that strong word of mouth remains the most effective form of publicity, and audiences ultimately decide to watch a film based on content and feedback.

The actor also stated that he personally avoids promoting his films at colleges and would only consider doing so if the producer strongly insists under unavoidable circumstances.
