In 2012, Sivakarthikeyan was a breakout lead actor in Tamil Cinema with two headliners and a supporting role to his credit, having just graduated from his popular TV anchoring gigs. Back then X was known as Twitter, and the character limit on the micro-blogging website was 140, as opposed to the current 280.
A tweet of Sivakarthikeyan from this era, has often made a comeback on Tamil movie timelines, thanks to the inadvertent manifestations that the actor put out in mere 140-character interactions. Now, with the release of AR Murugadoss directed Madharaasi on September 5, 2025, this 2012 manifestation tweet of Sivakarthikeyan is finally maxing out.
AR Murugadoss directed Thuppakki (2012) was a defining moment in Tamil Cinema for reasons various, and 13 years ago, a 27 year old Sivakarthikeyan had excitedly tweeted that he was able to get his hand on the coveted first day first show tickets.
Innaki date ku kaila 'thuppakki' vachirukavana vida 'Thuppakki' ticket vachirukavandhan periya aalu.. I got d tickets I say:))FDFS:)))

"Innaki date ku kaila 'thuppakki' vachirukavana vida 'Thuppakki' ticket vachirukavandhan periya aalu.. I got d tickets I say:))FDFS:)))", read Sivakarthikeyan's post in typical 2012 style of tweeting. Translation: "In today's date, a man with a Thuppakki (movie titled after the Tamil word for gun) ticket is bigger than the man with a gun in his hands. .. I got d tickets I say:))FDFS:)))".
@Siva_Kartikeyan ohhhh!!!!!

Rajkumar Periasamy who had worked with Sivakarthikeyan on Vijay TV gigs, was an associate director to AR Murugadoss on Thuppakki, and it was him who secured Sivakarthikeyan the FDFS tickets. 12 years later in 2024, Rajkumar Periasamy directed Sivakarthikeyan in a Rs. 300 Cr blockbuster Amaran, catapulting the actor to the crème de la crème box-office ranks of Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay.
@Rajkumar_KP thanks brother for d tickets :))

Thuppakki starred Vijay in the lead, and to-date remains the star actor's most popular movie in his entire filmography. After Vijay decided to leave cinema for politics in real life, he ensured a cameo for Sivakarthikeyan in his penultimate movie The Greatest Of All Time (2024), and director Venkat Prabhu gave a nod to Sivakarthikeyan's tweet from 2012.
A scene in The GOAT where Sivakarthikeyan plays a cameo as himself, has Vijay's character handing over a gun by stating, "Thuppakki ah pudinga Siva//Hold the gun Siva". This is a metaphorical statement that Vijay is leaving his place in Tamil Cinema for Sivakarthikeyan to take over.
And now with Madharaasi, Sivakarthikeyan is the first time hero of Thuppakki writer-director AR Murugadoss. Thuppakki's main villain was played by actor Vidyut Jammwal who has since stopped taking up antagonist role offers. However for AR Murugadoss, Vidyut has made a Tamil cinema comeback playing Sivakarthikeyan's main villain this time.

A Madharaasi dialogue where Vidyut Jammwal says, "Thuppakki evan kaila irundhalum villain naan dhaan da//No matter whose hands the gun is in, it is me who is the villain", even attributes this. Almost everyone from team Thuppakki including the AD has worked with Sivakarthikeyan on his movies since 2012.
Manifestations left from Sivakarthikeyan's 2012 tweet are a collab with Harris Jayaraj, music composer of Thuppakki, and a team up with producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, who produced Thuppakki under his banner V Creations.
