The Advisory Board for the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), held a virtual meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, February 7, 2025, and the Tamil Film industry was represented by Superstar Rajinikanth, and music composer AR Rahman. 

WAVES is a global summit that brings together the world of entertainment, creativity, and culture, and the Prime Minister’s meeting with all the board members was to position India as global entertainment hub in the near future.

WAVES 2025 is set to be held at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai between May 1, 2025 and May 5, 2025. The global summit aimed at amplifying India’s creative and media economy is organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) in India.

Other film personalities who are part of the WAVES advisory board are Bollywood's Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor,  Diljit Dosanjh, Anupam Kher, Telugu film industry's Chiranjeevi, among others.
