Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead is a biographical war action film which is slated to release in theaters this Diwali on October 31, 2024 (Thursday). Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), and Sony Pictures India have now officially announced Amaran trailer release date as October 23, 2024 (Wednesday). Amaran trailer will be unveiled at 6 PM tomorrow.  

Amaran trailer is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy of Rangoon (2017) fame, Amaran is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who lost his life to a fateful Shopian encounter, alongside Sepoy Vikram Singh in 2014.

"Col. Dabas’s WhatsApp profile picture is not his own. And his status message reflects the image: ‘Mukund and Vikram. Salute.’ He hasn’t found the heart to change those settings..and they remain a constant reminder of 2 of the finest soldiers the SF Colonel had known—2 soldiers he thinks of every day, 2 young men he will remember all his life", reads the ending of the chapter on Mukund V in the book.

 

Director Rajkumar Periyasamy spoke about the same during the Amaran audio launch, which will air on Vijay TV on October 27, 2024 (Sunday) at 11 AM. 

A book titled India's Most Fearless -  True Stories of Modern Military Heroes has a chapter dedicated to Mukund Varadarajan, who was posthumously awarded the Asoka Chakra by the President of India, in the presence of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and former US President Barrack Obama.  

Amaran movie incorporates the 14-page chapter ‘I Got Hit. I Can’t Believe It’ from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book India's Most Fearless. This chapter 7 is narrated by Colonel Amit Singh Dabbas who was Mukund V's commanding officer. Amaran has CH Sai for cinematography, GV Prakash for music, Anbariv for stunts, and R. Kalaivanan for edits.

Pen Marudhar Cine Entertainment is the distributor of Amaran Hindi, whereas Five Star K Senthil is releasing Amaran Kannada, Gokulam Gopalan Sree Gokulam Movies is releasing Amaran Malayalam, and Sreshth Movies is releasing Amaran Telugu.
