Tamil star actor Rajinikanth was hospitalized at the Apollo Hospitals on Greams Road, Chennai, and underwent a non-surgical cardiac procedure through the transcatheter method on Tuesday. Politicians belonging to all different parties in Tamil Nadu spent the Tuesday sending wishes for Rajinikanth's speedy recovery on X.

Apollo Hospitals released their first official statement on Rajinikanth's health at 5 PM on Tuesday evening. The medical bulletin on Rajini's cardiac procedure read, " He (Rajinikanth) had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non surgical, transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair)...Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days."

Following the statement from Apollo Hospitals, actor, politician Vijay took to the official X handle of his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to tweet, "I heartily pray to Almighty God that Superstar Mr. Rajinikanth, who has been hospitalized and recuperating attains a full recovery of his health and returns home in the near future."
