Actor Vijay is currently busy with The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) which is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, and produced by AGS Entertainment. The multi-starrer movie with Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, is gearing up to release in theaters on September 5, 2024 [Thursday]. Vijay is also focusing on politics as the chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), a political party formed by him.

While the Election Commission has accepted the official registration of TVK, the party symbol and flag are yet to be allotted. Before making his political debut and contesting in the next Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections in April-May, 2026, Vijay is expected to be acting in his last film which tentatively is referred to as Thalapathy 69. 

However Vijay's manager Bussy Anand has hinted now that The GOAT might very well become Vijay's last film, since nothing is concrete about Thalapathy 69. Bussy Anand has said that the first political meeting of the TVK Party will be held once Vijay wraps The Greatest of All Time shooting; Anand has also revealed that Vijay will be announcing in this meeting if or not the actor is going ahead with Thalapathy 69.
