Back in November, 2023, there was a strong buzz about Tamil movie Lal Salaam opting out of the Pongal 2024 box-office race. The movie featuring Rajinikanth in a prominent role, and starring Vishnu Vishal, Vikrant in the lead, was also reported to be releasing for Republic day instead.

However Lyca Productions has now officially announced Lal Salaam's new release date as February 9, 2024 [Friday]. A cricket-based sports drama that also speaks on religion-based politics, Lal Salaam titled after the South Asian communist chant has story by Vishnu Rangasamy, screenplay by Vishnu Rangasamy, Aishwarya Rajinikanth and is directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. 

The technical crew of this film includes AR Rahman for music, Vishnu Rangasamy for cinematography and  B. Pravin Baaskar for edits. Sony Music holds the audio rights to Lal Salaam, while Red Giant Movies holds distribution rights and Sun TV satellite.
