Lal Salaam starring Rajinikanth in a special appearance and Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth in the lead is once again making noise for its release date. Previously there seemed to be plans of postponing Lal Salaam from the scheduled Pongal, 2024 release in January, but the makers have maintained no change in plans until now. However word in the grapevine suggests that Lal Salaam will be releasing on Republic day i.e. January 26, 2024. Chiyaan Vikram starrer Thangalaan directed by Pa. Ranjith was supposed to release that Friday but the film's release date has been postponed [not official yet].

Industry buzz also suggests that the new Thangalaan release date might be on Good Friday i.e. March 29, 2024, before Easter. Lyca Productions, the banner behind Lal Salaam and Studio Green, the production house backing Thangalaan are yet to officially announced these changes.
