Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan is no new face to controversies. The character artiste who has mainly appeared in villain roles since the 90s has had one too many trysts with the law since 1998. Mansoor Ali Khan recently had a career revival when writer, director Lokesh Kanagaraj cast him in a pivotal role in the Vijay starrer Leo. The movie is still running in theaters and during an interview post the film's success, Mansoor Ali Khan ended up making tone-deaf statements in reference to Leo lead actress Trisha Krishnan. 

"They are not casting me as a villain only (these days)...They are not letting me rape (onscreen). I thought of saying this at the Leo (audio launch) only, but I left because there were some people who could have blown this out of proportion. I too had too much desire. I will say it here. Wow its Trisha! If I have to act with Trisha, then there definitely will be bedroom scenes. Just like how I flung (actress) Khushboo on the bed (in movies), how I flung (actress) Roja, I will be able to fling her (Trisha) too..I have done all kinds of rapes and atrocities in over 150 films. They are not casting me as a villain only. 

 

Trisha was carried like how (Hindu God) Hanuman carried the Chiranjeevi* mountain to Kashmir. You would have seen it in the trailer. It (the snow) was all white, and it was ensured that her foot didn't touch any of it. She was taken away like that only; They didn't bring her into our sights only."

* - In Hindu epic Ramayana, Lord Hanuman lifts an entire mountain containing the herb of life, and flies with it holding it in one hand. This mountain goes by names like Chiranjeevi mountain or the Sanjeevani mountain   

 

This media interaction clip was shared widely on social media and fans staged a call out, condemning Mansoor Ali Khan, team Leo and everyone else platforming the actor.  It is public knowledge that director Lokesh Kanagaraj is a big fan of Mansoor Ali Khan and all eyes were on how the director would react to this controversy.

The filmmaker did not disappoint and called out Mansoor Ali Khan on his official X handle. Leo female lead Trisha on the other hand, has vowed not to work with Mansoor Ali Khan ever again.
