The official announcement on actor Suriya's reunion with his Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara and music composer GV Prakash is here. 2D Entertainment has teased the title of the film in its announcement video and has also confirmed the presence of Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh and Vijay Varma in Suriya 43 cast.

Suriya 43 title comes with the suffix Purananooru while the title prefix is being kept under wraps. The film is GV Prakash's 100th as a music composer, and is jointly produced by Meenakshi Cinemas. Suriya 43 (tentative title) is said to touch on the infamous anti-Hindi agitation of Tamil Nadu by students in the 1960s. Rest of the cast and crew is yet to be revealed.
