Actor, producer Suriya's falling out with director Bala meant the former's walk-out from their then ongoing project Vanangaan almost a year ago. MovieCrow had later reported that actor Arun Vijay will be replacing Suriya and that Bala plans on reviving the project with a new cast and crew. Now Vanangaan has been rehashed with producer Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions and director Bala's B Studios, and the first look poster of the movie has dropped.

Vanangaan will see Arjun Vijay play a hearing, speech impaired character. As reported previously, the film has Roshni Prakash playing female lead. Vanangaan's technical crew includes GV Prakash for music, Vairamuthu for lyrics, RB Gurudev for cinematography, Stunt Silva for action choreography, RK Naguraj for art and Sathish Surya for edits. 

Vanangaan also stars actor-filmmakers Samuthirakani, Mysskin in important roles.
