Vanangaan, director Bala's project that began with Suriya as the lead and producer and later dropped, was said to have been revived with Arun Vijay as the lead replacement. While the other cast and crew, the production house backing the movie remained a mystery, a new update suggests that actress Roshni Prakash will be playing female lead in the movie.

Roshni Prakash has previously appeared in Tamil films namely Yemaali (2018), Jada (opposite Kathir in 2019) and she was last seen in the Kannada movie Lucky Man (2022). While an official announcement awaits, Roshni Prakash is replacing Krithi Shetty who was one of the actresses signed for Suriya's Vanangaan. 

Composer GV Prakash is still onboard the movie, and it is said that Bala is looking to begin shooting of the revived Vanagaan from March 9, 2023.
