R Madhavan has received the Padma Shri at an investiture ceremony in New Delhi, recommended by the Government of Maharashtra. Taking to X, the actor shared a heartfelt note expressing gratitude to the Government of India, the state government, and his fans, saying the honour belongs as much to those who supported him through the years as it does to him.
Madhavan also reflected on the responsibility that comes with the recognition, pledging to uphold integrity, humility and excellence, and to serve cinema and his country meaningfully. "I dedicate this honor to the magical world of cinema, to every artist and technician who has walked alongside me and to my family who have been my strength," he wrote.
The actor was recently seen in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and will next be seen as inventor GD Naidu in the biographical film GDN, whose makers released a new poster to mark the occasion.
