Karthi is set to collaborate with director Ganesh K Babu for his 31st film. According to sources, the actor was impressed by a narration from the director and has asked him to develop the script further. The project is not expected to go on floors anytime soon, with Karthi keen to complete his existing commitments first.

The actor currently has Sardar 2, directed by PS Mithran, awaiting a release date, along with Marshal — a 1965-set period film directed by Tamizh, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan — and Karthi 30 with Mad director Kalyan Shankar and Meenakshi Chaudhary.

Ganesh K Babu, who rose to prominence with Kavin's Dada, also has Karathey Babu with Ravi Mohan in the pipeline, a political actioner that has wrapped filming and is yet to lock a release date.
