Among the Tamil films, Rajinikanth starrers have always done record-breaking business in USA, and this box-office streak has continued with Jailer that opened in the US on August 9, 2023. Jailer, a Sun Pictures production has become Rajinikanth's third film to have crossed the 3 million (Rs. 24. 89 Cr) gross mark at the US box-office. Jailer has made Rajinikanth the only Kollywood actor to have 3 movies with 3M+  collections, the other two being the undisputed Kabali (2016) and 2.0 (2018).

Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer is an action comedy with Anirudh for music. The multi-starrer presented in the US by Prime Media, has already achieved break even and entered profit zone in the region.
