Tamil film industry off late has been pulling in record numbers in terms of audio rights and top music labels of the Indian cine business like the home-grown T-series, Saregama and the international Sony Music, have been shelling out big numbers to bag these deals. 

Actor Vijay's Thalapathy 68 (tentative title) recently became the film with the highest audio rights deal, surpassing Kamal Haasan's Indian 2. The former has music by composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, and the latter by Anirudh Ravichander.
