As previously reported, the release date of actor Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming bilingual Maaveeran [Tamil]/Mahaveerudu [Telugu] has been advanced from August 11, 2023 to July. The movie will now hit theater screens on July 14, 2023, confirmed an official announcement from Shanthi Talkies. 

Written and directed by Madonne Ashwin of Mandela (2021) fame, Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Saritha, Yogi Babu, Telugu actor Sunil among others [the latter two are also part of Rajinikanth's Jailer]. Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist in this fantasy action movie, which has Bharath Shankar for music, Vidhu Ayyanna for cinematography and Philomin Raj for edits.

The film's release date change comes in lieu of avoiding box-office clash with Rajinikanth, Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer. Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu's OTT and satellite rights are with Amazon Prime Video and Sun TV respectively.
