11 days ago, it was officially confirmed that Maaveeran starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead will be releasing in theaters worldwide on August 11, 2023 [Friday]. However MovieCrow learns that the bilingual which is titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu, is advancing its release date to July, 2023 to avoid box-office clash with Rajinikanth's Jailer, which has been announce to release on August 10, 2023. An official announcement on the same is however awaited. 

Written and directed by Madonne Ashwin of Mandela (2021) fame, Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Saritha, Yogi Babu, Telugu actor Sunil among others [the latter two are also part of Rajinikanth's Jailer]. Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist in this fantasy action movie, which has Bharath Shankar for music, Vidhu Ayyanna for cinematography and Philomin Raj for edits.

Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu is a production venture of Shanthi Talkies with Amazon Prime Video holding OTT rights and Sun TV satellite. It is worth mentioning here that Sivakarthikeyan has been long-rumoured to appear in a 'surprise cameo' in Jailer, but the makers have never officially confirmed this update.
