It was officially announced by Shanthi Talkies, producers of actor Sivakarthiekyan's upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu, that the movie will be releasing in theaters worldwide on August 11, 2023 [Friday]. A release date announcement video (view above) and two posters for Maaveeran and Mahaveerudu were also unveiled. 

Written and directed by Madonne Ashwin of Mandela (2021) fame, Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Saritha, Telugu actor Sunil among others. Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist in this fantasy action movie, which has Bharath Shankar for music, Vidhu Ayyanna for cinematography and Philomin Raj for edits.
