Ayalaan starring Sivkarthikeyan in the lead is a long-delayed sci-fi alien movie, written and directed by R. Ravikumar of Indru Netru Naalai (2015) fame. 3 years ago, the movie had a first look poster release and a single titled Vera Level Sago composed by AR Rahman followed a year later. 

Sivakarthikeyan was recently in Mumbai to pick up an award, and one of the show's hosts was Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan co-star Sharad Kelkar. The on-stage interaction between the two indicated that Sivakarthikeyan will be all over in Mumbai to promote the release of Ayalaan this Diwali season.

Diwali in 2023 falls on November 12 (Sunday)and Tamil film industry is expected to see box-office being booked starting November 8/9. So far potential Diwali 2023 releases include Shankar-Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, Karthi's heist thriller Japan, and Dhanush's period action film Captain Miller.

[Update: April 24, 2023]: Ayalaan's Diwali 2023 release has now been officially confirmed, making it the first Tamil movie to announce this holiday release plan.
