MovieCrow had previously reported that Jailer starring Rajinikanth in the lead is aiming for an August 11, 2023 release this year, and that the film will have a grand audio launch in Malaysia before that. In line with the same, latest update on the movie suggests that shooting will wrapped this Tamil New Year i.e. by April 15, 2023. Only 10 days of filming remains at the moment and it will take place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Earlier this month, Jailer marked 100 days of shooting and while official announcements have been awaited by fans ever since, Sun Pictures is yet to update one. Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer has Anirudh for music and also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Shivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Telugu actor Sunil, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Malayalam star Mohanlal in a cameo among others.
