Actor Ajith's Thunivu trailer is talk of the town, after the video managed to garner 30M+ real time views in the first 24 hours of its release on YouTube. While it remains debatable if Thunivu's updated views within the first 24 hours has surpassed the highest track record holder in Tamil - Beast, the numbers have indeed delighted fans since the video was uploaded on a relatively lesser exposed YouTube channel.

It was also officially updated that Thunivu has cleared censor with an U/A. The movie's runtime is said to be 145.48 minutes i.e. 2 hours, 25 minutes and 48 seconds.

Thunivu directed by H. Vinoth is a scheduled Pongal release that awaits official release date announcement. Currently it is being said that talks are going on for the movie to release on January 11, 2023 with an evening show premiere. This has happened before with Suriya's 7aum Arivu, when it was scheduled for a Diwali clash with Vijay's Velayudham in 2011. It remains to be seen if Thunivu/Tegimpu will also follow the same.

[Update: January 4, 2023]: Thunivu producer Boney Kapoor has officially announced that the Ajith starrer will hit theater screens on January 11, 2023. Timing of the first show [FDFS] is yet to be revealed.
