Tegimpu is an upcoming Telugu dubbed movie of Tamil star Ajith Kumar and its trailer was dropped by the makers this evening. Written and directed by H. Vinoth of Khakee (dubbed version of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru) fame, Tegimpu is a bank heist entertainer produced by Bollywood's Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. Radhakrishnan Entertainments and IVY Productions is releasing Tegimpu in Telugu states.
Centered around money, the movie follows a mysterious mastermind played by Ajith Kumar. He and his core team of four - played by Mollywood actress Manju Warrier and former Bigg Boss Tamil 5 contestants - Amir, Pavani Reddy and Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, form an elaborate plan and commit bank heists across the city. Their motive behind these heists forms the rest of the story.
Tegimpu has Ghibran for music and while one his songs reveals that Ajith goes by AK in the movie, neither the character posters, nor the trailer reveal the lead character's name. There are also speculations that Ajith maybe named after his Mankatha (2011) character ACP Vinayak Mahadev, since the actor played a grey-shaded character in that movie as well. There is a Bangkok connection between both films too.
Moreover Arjun Sarja who played Ajith's partner-in-crime in Mankatha, was spotted at the shooting spot of Tegimpu last year, which further fuelled these talks. Tegimpu is expected to hit theater screens on January 12, 2023 for Sankranthi.
