Pathu Thala, a long-in-the-making remake of 2017 Kannada hit Mufti is all set to hit theater screens next year, for the makers have officially announced the film's release date to be March 30, 2023 [Thursday]. Silambarasan TR who plays a don named AGR in Pathu Thala, is reprising Jailer actor Shivarajkumar's role from the original. The release date was announced with a brand new poster featuring the actor.

Also starring Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan among others, Pathu Thala tells the story of a police officer, who tracks down and confronts an underworld boss. The movie is directed by Obeli N Krishna and and is jointly produced by Studio Green and Pen Studios.
