Ever since Rajinikanth's upcoming movie Jailer was launched, there has been a buzz about actor Sivakarthikeyan playing a young version of the Superstar in the movie. Sivakarthikeyan has so far not revealed to be a part of the official cast list of Jailer, but talks of his special appearance in the flashback portion of the movie has once again reignited, thanks to some behind-the-scenes (BTS) pictures from the film sets. 

Kannada actor Shivarajkumar who plays antagonist in Jailer was at Chennai recently to shoot his portions. Sivakarthikeyan, who has played a cameo in Shivarajkumar's 2015 Kannada film Vajrakaya was clicked interacting with Shivanna at the shooting spot. It remains unknown if Sivakarthikeyan is indeed playing young Rajini in Jailer,  or he paid a friendly visit to the sets, given his close friendship with director Nelson Dilipkumar. 

Jailer is a production venture of Sun Pictures and is expected to release for Tamil New Year on April 14, 2023. The movie is said to be a story based on prison and its inmates and also stars Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan among others.
