Sun Pictures recently unveiled the title of Rajinikanth's next film as Jailer, sending Rajinikanth fans into a frenzy. While revealing a film's title before shooting is not uncommon, Rajini fans have taken this as cue to be on alert for updates in the following days. A variety of enthusiasm therefore is on display on social media from the hard-core fan section. One Twitter user took it as far as making a hilarious joke about calling a ticket-booking app to know when the reservations for Jailer will open; If nothing this shows the craze for the 'star' Rajini among Tamil cinephiles even today.

Another latest update on Jailer is that director Nelson Dilipkumar has based the story on prison and its inmates. Buzz also has it that actor Sivakarthikeyan will be seen as a younger Rajinikanth in the flashback portions whereas Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar will be seen as the antagonist in this story. 

Jailer has Anirudh for music and is expected to go on floors from August 1st week at Hyderabad. The film is also said to be shooting in Karnataka in September, 2022.
