Thalaivar 169 (tentative title) is an upcoming Rajinikanth starrer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures. Anirudh is composing music for this movie and now Sun Pictures has officially announced that the movie has been titled Jailer. 

So far actors like Priyanka Mohan, Ramya Krishnan, Redin Kingsley and Sivakarthikeyan are also said to be part of the movie, while their casting is yet to be officially announced. Kannada actor Shivarajkumar on the other hand has directly confirmed he is part of the film and has also said that his portions alongside Rajini will be shot in September, 2022 in Bengaluru or Mysore. 

Jailer on the other hand is expected to begin shooting from August 1st week at Hyderabad.
